Alona Kurotová spoke at the anti-corruption festival Pucung24

Alona Kurotová attended the renowned Protikorupčný Festival Pucung24, held on April 26-27, 2024. At the anti-corruption festival, relevant topics in the fight against corruption were discussed, as well as the role of culture, youth, and influencers in protecting democracy. The event was accompanied by entertainment and musical programs. The festival is held annually in the city of Košice, surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges and hills, and gathers the best activists, journalists, public officials, artists, and comedians.

Some of the participants included:

Medial Banana – a musical band

Zuzana Petková – a journalist and investigator recognized for her work in investigative journalism. She specializes in exposing corruption scandals and economic crimes, including those involving state structures and large businesses

Katarína Koščová and Daniel Špiner – renowned Slovak musicians who often perform together, creating unique musical works

Monika Tódová – a well-known Slovak journalist from Denník N, specializing in investigations of corruption and political scandals

Juraj Novocký – a Slovak lawyer and prosecutor specializing in combating corruption and economic crimes. He is known for his investigations and court cases against high-ranking officials

Other participants included: Silvia Hroncová, Lost Clusters, Andrej Belák, Michal Šúrek, Július Barczi, Ľubomír Daňko, František Mikloško, Iveta Radičová, Ladislav Masár, Martin Milan Šimečka, Dorota Kenderová, Matúš Harkabus, and Laura Kellö Kalinská.

In the “Inspiring Talks” category, Alena Kurotová also gave a presentation about her life, her journey, and the key projects she is working on. Other speakers in this category included: Sandra Polovková – Post Bellum, Matej Pribelský – Aktuality.sk, Ľucia Sabová – Climate Coalition.

In her presentation, Alena shared the story of how Nádacia AK was founded in 2014. Later, books were published that became the first and only Slovak language textbooks for children of foreigners and immigrants.

The Protikorupčný Festival Pucung brings together the best representatives from various fields every year, united by a single goal – to fight corruption and create a fairer future for everyone.
